Docent
Be a Docent for the Museum of Craft and Folk Art!
Docents are a vital part of the visitor experience at the Museum. Our scheduled docent tours take place on the first Tuesday, and second and fourth Saturdays of every month at 1 PM. We also receive special tour requests for docents, which are typically in the mornings, during the week, and sometimes on the weekends. All of our docent work is on a volunteer basis, and provides visitors with unique educational insight to better understand our exhibitions.
It is not necessary for you to have previous docent experience, but a love of art, especially folk art and craft, is strongly recommended. We also are opening our Docent Program to students with experience in the field of art history or museum studies, who are interested in gaining additional experience in education and curatorial practice. We encourage you to apply to become a docent with the Museum of Craft and Folk Art.
