Directions
Situated across from Yerba Buena Gardens, the Museum is on Yerba Buena Lane, a new pedestrian walkway at Mission between Third and Fourth.
Just four blocks from Union Square, the Museum is a short walk from the Powell Street station and is accessible from many major bus lines. Surrounding the Museum is a vibrant urban neighborhood with many other museums, cultural centers, hotels, restaurants, shopping, and affordable parking.

From the East Bay, take Interstate 80 and
exit at Fremont Street. Take a left onto Fremont at the end of the ramp,
and another left onto Howard. Turn
right on Fifth Street. Follow Fifth to Mission and turn right.
Yerba Buena Lane is located between Fourth and Third & Mission and
Market, adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.
From the South Bay, take Highway 101 north
and follow signs for I-80 East. Exit on Fourth Street, which will
lead to Bryant. Turn
left on Third Street, and then left onto Howard. Turn right on
Fifth Street. Follow Fifth to Mission and turn right. Yerba
Buena Lane is located between Fourth and Third & Mission and Market,
adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.
From the North Bay, take Highway 101 south
to the Lombard Street exit. Follow Lombard to Van Ness and turn right
onto Van Ness. Follow Van Ness until you reach Golden Gate: turn left.
Golden Gate will take you across Market Street onto Sixth Street. Turn
left off of Sixth onto Mission. Yerba
Buena Lane is located between Fourth and Third & Mission and Market,
adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.
Parking: There
is some street parking and a number of garages and parking lots near
the museum.
- Mission Street Parking Garage, enter on Mission Street between fifth and fourth streets
- Jessie Square Garage, enter from Stevenson which is off Third street between Mission and Market.
Exit at Powell Station on Market Street and walk east to Fourth Street,
turn right. Walk down Fourth to Mission and turn left at the Metreon.
Yerba Buena Lane is located between Fourth and Third & Mission and
Market, adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.
Buses: All Market Street lines, plus #5 Fulton, 9 San Bruno, 14 Mission,
15 Third, 30 Stockton, 38
Metro: Take any Muni metro line (J Church, K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Oceanview or N Judah)
Golden Gate Transit: buses #10, 20, 50, 60, 70 and 80 stop on Mission and Third
Caltrain: The train station is located at Fourth and Townsend Streets. The MUNI #15, 30, and 45 buses and the N Judah line take commuters from the train station to Third and Mission.
Ferries: Ferries run to San Francisco from various locations around the bay. Most ferries disembark at the Ferry Building at the foot of Market Street. Walk west on Market. Take a left onto Yerba Buena Lane, located between Third and Fourth & Mission and Market.
